What Is The Prognosis After Left Kidney Is Functioning 17% And Having Pyelonephritis?
My kidney function currently is 17% left kidney 83% right kidney. I m 48 yr old female, had a pyeloplasty at the age of 7 years of age. I ve had another bout of pyelonephritis, currently week 3, ongoing pain in my kidney. What are my options long term?

is your pyelonephritis in the left kidney? If you have recurrent UTIs from the left kidney then options in the future would be prophylactic antibiotic daily or if still with breakthrough infection despite the antibiotic then you might need to have your kidney removed laparoscopically.
