What Is The Prognosis For A Massive Heart Stroke With Vitals Being Normal?

My mum is in hospital at the minute. She took a massive heart attack apparently several weeks before going being admitted but didn t realise she had one as she had no pain. Her resting heart rate now reads at anything from 100 -122 her oxygen levels are reading at anything between 93-99 and her blood pressure is pretty good read round the 135/75 mark. Drs have said that she isn t going to survive and have stopped treating her can they do this even though some days she is really bright and others she is quite drowsy

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, it can because of very low cardiac reserve or due to low ejection fraction of heart, that they might have planned not to use ventilatory support in case of any such need. Refusing to treat with such vitals isn't done and supotive treatment and Medical Therapy is always given along.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
