What Is The Prognosis For A Person With GBM Tumor?
My best friend in the whole wide world I believe is in the last stages of life. GBM stage 4 diagnosed 5 years ago. She is acting very confused doesn t realize she is at home always thinking she is somewhere else. Starting to be very mean and says nasty mean comments. She can still walk with a walker but is very weak in the legs. It s scary when she gets up. She is having a hard time sleeping she wants to roam all over the house at night. I know this is the tumor but wondering what else we should expect. I live 500 miles away and having been driving every other week to spend 2-3 days with her. What is gonna happen next ? I know all patients are differnt but there has to be some kind of pattern.
With standard treatment, median survival for adults with glioblastoma, is approximately 11-15 months.
There are factors that can contribute to improved prognosis, such as younger age at diagnosis (less than 50 years), near-complete removal of the tumor in surgery.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
