What Is The Prognosis For Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia?

I have a friend who has acute lymphoblastic leukemia. She was recently put on morphine and she says that it is rather likely that she will die. She had also said that she may have to receive a bone marrow transplant that may save her life. I've heard that morphine can be prescribed to those that are not terminally ill. I would just like to know her relative chance of survival. Thanks.

Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
Acute lymphoblastic leukemia has poor prognosis without treatment.
prognosis depends on age, blast percent and molecular factors. But without any treatment it has definitely very poor prognosis.
Morphin is given in terminal illness gor pain relief.
Bone marrow transplantation is the treatment of choice.
Consult your doctor and take treatment accordingly.
Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic.

Adult ALL has poor prognosis. Morphine is part of Palliation and curative treatment more for pain relief than for any anti-cancer activity.
