Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Is The Prognosis For An Enlarged Spleen And Liver?
I do not know the specific details. But I have an enlarged spleen and liver. My WBC is high and I have several swollen lymph nodes in my neck. I do have neuropathy, IBSD, and arthritis. I am 45 y/o with no personal cancer history but all of my grandparents died of cancer including leukemia. My non-biological daughter had t-cell lymphoma so I may be a bit paranoid!
Family history of cancer is vital in cases where swollen lymph nodes along with spleen and liver enlargement observed . Do not panic. Its not necessary that these symptoms are classical of cancer but to rule it out, I suggest you consult an oncologist or your family doctor.
A physical examination and check of the lymph nodes is necessary along with some blood tests and probably imaging tests. In addition your doctor might ask for lymph node biopsy to be done to know the type of cell involvement. Once the diagnosis is made your doctor will guide you with appropriate treatment.
Hope this helps. Feel free to contact for any further query in future.
