Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello- Today, we had our first sonogram. It showed slow growth, with gestation at about 5 weeks with the yolk sac visible but not much in the way of baby forming as would be expected of a possible 8 week old fetus. My last menstruation began 3/24 and we took a positive home test on 4/30. We were given 3 options by the doctor; wait, D & C; the pill to trigger the miscarriage or to wait it out. I have read several stories online from others who had similar prognosises but went on to deliver healthy babies. Not wanting to be in denial or give up hope, either. I m reaching out to the wise doctors of the Internet for advice. Thank you, M
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. From your description, it can be advised that you can wait for 1 to 2 more weeks. Look for the progress by undertaking scan after 2 weeks. If the progress is not good, then you need to take a call regarding its termination. In the meantime, if you get any adverse symptoms like spotting, bleeding and stomach pain or cramps, you need to seek medical attention promptly. Hope this helps. Regards, Dr.Ashakiran.S., MBBS., MD.
