What Is The Prognosis For High Blood Pressure And Triglyceride Levels?
I am 42 years old. 5 8 165lbs. My most recent BP was 130/85 and triglycerides are 310. Have a strong family history of heart disease. Was in the ER last week with a BP of 180/110. What are my risks of a stroke or heart attack? Is it something that could happen soon?
Hello dear Understand your concern. Yes obviously High TG and blood pressor have high risk for Stroke and heart disease. Start blood pressor treatment as early as possible. It causes damage to eye, kidney and heart.
Advice: Regular heart check up every 3 months by ECG and echo. Start treatment for blood pressor: beta blocker, angiotensin II blocker, nitrates Also do full lipid profile. Avoid spicy and fatty foods Take small frequent meals rather than large meal. Start exercise regularly daily in morning for 45 minutes. Also repeat the Lipid profile after 10-12 hour fasting. Start lipid lowering drugs: statins
Hope this may help you Best regards Dr. SAGAR
