What Is The Prognosis For Stage 4 Lung Cancer With Pleural Effusion?

My wife has stage 4 lung cancer and pleural effusion. She has had chemo treatments and the cancer shrunk, but it has now grown again to almost the same size as it was when w started he chemo. She also has a spot by her heart and by her liver. The doctor is saying she might only have months and to show her as much love as possible. She has shortness of breath but otherwise is pretty healthy. Is the doctor correct on this?

Hi
Your wife is suffering from stage 4 lung cancer.
The disease now must have progressed and so basic supportive care at this stage is advised.
She may only have 3 to 6 months to live.
I would advise u arrange for an oxygen cylinder in home in case of acute shortness of breath.
Regards
DR De
