What Is The Prognosis For The Child Based On This Obstetric Sonography Report?
Hi I did an obstertric sonography yesterday.... I am 35 weeks 5 days pregnant.... My report says 3 vessel cord is normal Two ambilcal artery seen A loop of cord is noted around the neck Foetal face is not accessible Am very tensed with dis report please help
As per my clinical experience, cord around neck at 35 weeks of gestation do not pause major problematic concern at this stage. The majority of the cases do revert back to normal as the pregnancy proceeds with normal parameters.
A regular sequential ultrasound with fetal Doppler is must to follow it vigilantly as in case of persistence of the cord around neck beyond 37 weeks mandate a cesarean delivery.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
