Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What is the long term prognosis for a 55 year old male with leiomyosarcoma. He was diagnosed two years ago and has undergone 6 surgeries to remove tumors from his spine and is now undergoing chemotherapy using gemcitibine-doxirobicine, & trabectedin.
Leiomyosarcoma is a malignant smooth muscle mesenchymal tumor. As it is spread to spine means metastasis occur prognosis is bad. In such a case, only chemotherapy is given, and complete the course of prescribing chemotherapy by Oncosurgeon.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
