An echocardiography is a techniques by which we evaluate the functioning f the heart. As you might be aware, the heart consists of 4 chambers and valves and separation between the chambers. By echo we see that there is a proper separation between chambers, no septal defects, the walls of the chambers and the valves. The blood flow pattern is also analyzed. For you baby this becomes important to know as he is getting tired too early when feeding.
Babies as young as 1 month having difficulty in sustaining feeding should be checked for any kind of heart conditions that is limiting their activity. A 2D echo checks the heart for any abnormalities structure and flow through valves. This is a completely safe investigation and is an imaging procedure. It is based on ultrasound and Doppler. Just hope that the little boy does not have any problems because you say that the bottle is done at one go.
