What Is The Reason For Dull Ache In Left Upper Arm Radiating To Chest Area Getting Severe At Times ?
Hello: For the past week, I ve had a dull ache in my left upper arm ,and shoulder. It sometimes radiates into the left chest area, but not always. The severity of the ache changes from almost non-exisistent to very discomforting. Now, I have normal blood pressure, my heart rate is 60bpm, and my breathing is fine. What can this be from?
Well, I went to emergency and got checked. Cardiogram, blood work, and chest X-ray. All came out perfect. Pretty sure it's originating from the left shoulder joint, but all cases may not be the same as this. If you experience any left arm pain, and/or chest pain, get to Emergency right away. It's good of you to go to emergency and got the tests done when you had left arm and chest pain- which may be related to your heart . Sometimes anginal pain comes and goes off within 5 to 15 min and when you get the tests done, they will be normal.
Secondly, it may be because of muscle spasm (catch), which can be there for few days and recur again. Get some rest to hand, cold packs and some muscle relaxant can be tried after specialist consultation.
