What Is The Reason For Foul Smelling Armpits With Brown Discharge?

Hello. I am a 27 year old who is 5 8 and weighs 140 pounds. For about 2 or 3 weeks, every time I laid down, I would smell something that smelled like vomit. I realized this smell was coming from my armpit. Recently I noticed both of my armpits have gotten a somewhat sweet smell. However, in my left armpit there has developed a dark (somewhat firm) mark. It was a lump at first but I squeezed it and a thick dark-brown substance came out; which smelled foul. The lump is gone but in addition to that sweet smell, the dark mark on my armpit still smells like vomit. I went to the doctor, but she was no help.

Hi,

I can understand your concern for the foul-smelling armpits with brown discharge.

After reading the query it appears to be simple fungal infection only and wsa secondarily infected. Do not worry it will be alright.

Do not pinch, pop or scratch or even touch the area unnecessarily as it can cause aggravation of the rash. Do not even try to see the area and touch it again an again in anxiety.

Change your undergarments two times daily and wear cotton clothes and cotton undergarments. Stay away from humid and hot environment.

I suggest you to apply anti-fungal cram such as clotrimazole or terbinafine cream application because are best effective in these condition. You may need a course of oral anti-fungal and antibiotic such as fluconazole and ciprofloxacin under medical guidance to treat the infextion omppletely,
