What Is The Reason For Greasy Taste In Throat And Mouth?
Hi, for the past few weeks I have had a greasy taste in my throat and mouth to a point where I feel sick. My appetite has changed and I also get a perfume taste when I eat something. Im not on any medication and havent been ill but do feel quite lethargic. Do you have any suggestions? Thankyou.
Understanding your concern. As per your query greasy taste in throat and mouth are pointing towards infection of upper respiratory track , nasal infection or sinusitis. It could be due to disturbance in olfactory sensations leading to olfactory hallucination. I would suggest you consult ENT specialist for proper examination and treatment . Doctor may order blood test and throat swab test to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics course and decongestants . You should consult dentist as well as it could be due to gum infection like gingivitis . Doctor may perform oral prophylaxis and prescribe antibiotics. For now do warm saline rinses and gargles several times a day and maintain oral hygiene .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
