Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Is The Reason For My Foot Turning Into Blue Color After Stepping Down After A Ligament And Tendon Reconstruction?
I had ligament and tendon reconstruction after a bad fall down the stairs where the ankle was badly sprained. they also removed scar tissue. They put me in a cast for 30 days and I am 6 days out of the cast and every time I put the foot down it turns blue/purple within minutes. There is a little swelling in the ankle still. Do you think this blue/purple color will clear up eventually or is this a complication or something I need to be concerned with?
HI Thank for asking to HCM I really appreciate your concern, the chances of leaking of blood is likely and that need to be ruled out first and for that you have to consult the surgeon and have word with, you should not take it as granted, take care and have nice day.
