What Is The Reason For Swollen And Painful Stomach After Appendix Removal?

I had appendix taken out back in november and it had ruptured. Now my stomach is still very swollen and I still have pain. Along with my appendix rupturing I was in the hospital for 9 daus with illeus and a couple of infections. I had tube inserted in my side to rain fluid and I just want to know why my stomach is swollen and still hurting....

I am so sorry to hear about this ruptured appendix, I am however happy that your doctors managed to get it addressed and help you out of it. Ruptured appendix is a dreadful thing to deal with. Many never really make it.

From the information you have provided, there are a number of possible causes of this. How is your bowel habit? Do you stool normally? This is because surgery can lead to sub-occlusive symptoms. Here, intestines fail to move freely as before leading to mild symptoms of occlusion. proper interview, exams, and investigations would be able to look more into this. I will advice that you return to your treating team for evaluation.
