What Is The Recommended Dose Of AKT 4 For TB Patients?
Hello doctor. I am a married girl, 26 years old. My weight is 44kg. I m diagnosed with tb one month back and I ve already started treatment 2O days back and taking AKT 4. I m taking capsule on empty stomach before breakfast and two tablets after lunch and remaining one after dinner. My doctor suggested dosage as stated above. Is it OK to take dosage like this? Will there be any delay in curing tb and will it have any problem in completion of trearment?
I think the dosage you might be taking is as under: - Capsule of Rifampicin and Isonex (450 mg + 300 mg) Empty stomach - Two tablets of Pyrazinamide 750 mg at lunch - One tablet of Ethambutol 800 mg after dinner Depending on your weight, these seem to be right doses with right timings. Usually this dose is to be continued for 2 months. After this your doctor will omit Pyrazinamide or Pyrazinamide and Ethambutol (both). This reduced dose will be continued at least for 4 months or more till the completion of treatment at the discretion of your doctor.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
