Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your mother's symptoms.

It is unfortunate that she has suffered from a second brain stroke.

Paralysis of right side of body and loss of speech indicate that the blood supply of left side of brain is booked. This can be confirmed by doing a brain MRI scan.

The recovery period would depend on the size of brain stroke and treatments received.

People who receive the thrombolytic (clot buster) therapy with tissue plasminogen activator have the best outcomes.

Recovery after brain stroke occurs up to two years after paralysis. She should be continued on physiotherapy and exercises.

I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,
