Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Is The Remedy For A Soft Knot On The Head After A Car Accident?
My husband had a car accident two weeks ago today. He said he was fine and did not go to the er. He still has a soft knot on his head and bruising behind his right ear. He complains of headaches off and on still. He says he is fine but he is also forgetting things too. Should we be concerned?
For the knot, it is most likely a blood collection and this will regress slowly over time and the blood is absorbed by he body cells. If the headaches and forgetfulness all started after the accident, I will suggest that he goes to the hospital and get at least a scan to show that all is well as opposed to living with uncertainty. There is really no reason to get too worried at this point unless something very concerning is identified on the ct-scan of the head.
Thanks and hope this helps. I wish you well.
