hi i have a 2month old baby, his nose is blocked its more than 1month now that i am using saline nasal spray (calpol) but no improvement and he struggles with breathing,do i have to clean his nose every day can i use buds or suction bulb to clean his nose?am really worried as he cries a lot because of this.
Two-month-old baby is a small one and nasal blockage due to mucus can really be troublesome for the baby and mother too as it is difficult to clean. Consult a neonatologist and a nurse working in such places to learn to do suction by special tubes with a collection bottle and your can suck air through another end.
You can use pure cotton wick made by hand. If the problem persists then it is important to know the cause and thus an opinion of a pediatrician and / or ENT may be required for clinical evaluation and have treatment as per their prescription. Do not rub on the nose.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
