What Is The Remedy For Dizziness And Heartburn At High Altitude?
70 year old female at high altitude on vacation. 9days here still not acclimated as I usually do. Short of breath, dizzy, one set of steps makes me sweat. Heartburn on some nights, just a tum is ok. Fatigue so bad I am in bed instead of skiing. No chest pain, but back of neck hurts. Can t find a pulse until I move around then heart pounds.Thank you. Linda Herrick
Thanks for the query. It may be related to altitude sickness and low oxygen levels; this would be particularly true if you have any degree of underlying anemia, given that the blood cells are the ones that carry oxygen to the brain and other tissues in the body.
I would suggest to see a provider wherever you are vacationing and obtaining basic lab tests such as a hemoglobin and an arterial blood gas.
Hope this helps, wish you the best,
