What Is The Remedy For Dry Mouth Due To Sinus Blockage?

hi, I am a 29-year-old male from hyderabad. I drink a lot of water due to dry mouth and feeling a lot thirsty. W.r.t. the water drank, I have to move to the bathroom numerous times. The reason for dry mouth could be due to the sinus blockage and occasional breathing with mouth. Please suggest.

Hi
Thanks for the query.

Yes, it is true that dry mouth can occur due to mouth breathing and is more in case of sinus congestion.

If you are unable to breathe through nose then you probably to breathe through mouth.

I would suggest you to first of all consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated.

He can advise you to investigate like PNS View or MRI of the sinuses as well as nasal endoscopy to rule out the exact cause of congestion and treat you accordingly.

As of now you can do steam inhalations, use decongestant nasal sprays like Xylometazoline for reducing congestion.
You can chew sugar free chewing gum and tart candies to stimulate saliva flow.

Hope this helps
Regards
