Hi.
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain sticky saliva is due to reduced serous secretion in the saliva and it is ultimately the cause of
dry mouth when saliva secretion is reduced.
Use of baking soda in excess can be a cause of dry mouth but it is not seen to cause dry mouth commonly so it will be better to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated as there can be a few other common causes of dry mouth like
Salivary gland disorders, oral infection like thrush, chronic
dehydration, side effect of medicines etc..
A thorough clinical evaluation is must for confirming the cause and treating accordingly..
As of now if you think baking soda is the cause, better stop using it and gargle using warm saline water..
Suck on lemon drops, tart candies and sugar free chewing gums as it helps in stimulating salivary flow..
Drink plenty of water.
Avoid using regular mouthwash as it also has a drying effect in mouth and you can use specialized mouthwash formulated for dry mouth patients like
Biotene..
Maintain a good
oral hygiene..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.
