Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Is The Remedy For Erratic Behavior That Includes Sleeping All Day And Being Awake All Night?
My brother has been displaying erratic behavior. He laughs to himself when there is nobody around, he is not motivated to do anything. He sleeps all day and is up all night. He thinks everyone is against him including family and he acts like some one is talking to him when there is nobody around and laughs hysterically to himself.
Hello and welcome to Healthcare Magic. Thanks for your query.
I understand that you must be distressed by the recent changes in behaviour in your brother. From the brief description of your brother's problems, it appears that he may be suffering from a mental illness called psychosis. However, a detailed history and psychological assessment is necessary to arrive at a definitive diagnosis.
I would suggest that you take him to a psychiatrist as early as possible for a detailed avaluation. There are good treatment options available - in the form of medication and counselling, which can control his symptoms.
Wish you all the best.
Regards, Dr. Jonas Sundarakumar Consultant Psychiatrist
