What Is The Remedy For Gout In Toes?

My gout has come back in the area round my large toe; something I have not suffered for approx 4 years. I have just increased my running mileage and think I have got slightly dehydrated. Is there anything I can do without going to the doctors/hospital

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to gout. I suggest using an anti inflammatory medication such as Acetaminophen to relieve the pain and inflammation. I also suggest to check the uric acid level for further evaluation. If the uric acid level is high I recommend using Allopurinol 100 mg to lower it.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
