What Is The Remedy For Irregular Periods When On Duphaston And Pause?
Iam 27 years old and was on Duphaston for almost 6 months 5 pills every month to regularize my periods. I stopped using it in December 2013, and I missed my periods and got them back in Feburary 2014 with continous bleeding with big clots. So taken Pause MF to stop them? How should I treat this because I cannot take these medicines because, seen lot of side effects of it.
I understand your issue. I suggest that you first get yourself evaluated about the cause of irregular periods. Commonest causes are hormonal disturbances like thyroid and prolactin abnormalities and PCOD [polycystic ovarian disease].
In PCOD any one or many from a group of hormones regulating the menstrual cycle are abnormal leading to irregular or heavy bleed. Ovarian cysts may also produce similar symptoms. You will need an examination by a gynecologist and an ultrasound with hormonal profile tested on day 2 or 3 of menses to determine the cause.
Further treatment will be as per the abnormality. I also recommend that you start regular exercise and eat healthy food like fruits and cereals and avoid fat and sugars. This also helps in restoring the hormonal mileu and correcting irregular periods.
