Hi, I have been straggling with a skin conditions for the last 4 yrs. I have seen different doctors and it has not been a good experience. I am itchy and in pain all the time. i can t sleep well because of the pain and itch. my legs and arms are covered with the scars and now its starting to affect my face. Recently they found out i have staph aureus. I think it is cellulitis. I ve have taken Bactrim and it worked for a time. My question is what should i do know to deal with the pain and itching?
I can understand your concern for itchy, painful skin, scars on legs and arms spreading to face. It is difficult to make a exact diagnosis of your condition without pictures.
If I were your dermatologist then would have prescribed to apply medium potency steroid cream such as mometasone or fluticasone cream with an antibiotic application such as mupirocin or fucidin. You can take antihistamine benadryl or loratadine by mouth.
The only precaution you must follow is not to touch, pinch pop or squeeze any of them other wise it can get infected and can cause complications.
Meet a dermatologist who can physically examine you in person and can diagnose the exact condition and accordingly the best treatment for you.
Take care.
