i am a 31 yrs old male. i am experiencing knee joint pain for the past 3-4 months. when i flux my joint and keep it for some time and after that it is painful to extent the knees, especially after sitting in an indian lavatory.and i experience it more in the morning hours. can u give your valuable advice please????
In your case, it may be an over-use injury (Due to repeated movements causing tissue damage or irritation to the area). Constant jumping, landing and changing direction can cause strains, tears or damage to the patellar tendon. Patellofemoral syndrome is the cause of anterior knee joint pain during all ages. It may be caused by something maltracking of patella during act of extension of knee joint from flexion.
Most of injuries, of this type can be healed without surgery. Adequate rest with your leg elevated will promote the recovery to be faster. We should give the ligaments enough time to heal. However, if the problem is not resolved within 4 weeks, then the doctor must be consulted & surgery may be required in such cases.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Satnarain Bansal, General & Family Physician
