Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had multiple CTs, EGDs, and colonoscopies (all normal, with exception of some diverticular disease) in the last year for recurring nausea/vomiting and bloody stools. Been to three GIs. Last one says he doesn t know what else to do for me and said antidepressants are the way to help.
I have gone through your medical history and feel sorry for the situation you are in. I am also happy to know that CTs, EGDs, and colonoscopies were all normal.
As you have been diagnosed with diverticular disease, I suggest to discuss with your doctor and to re-evaluate the diverticula state. The divertucar disease is characterized by acute stage (diverticulitis) and improvement period. Should determine if vomiting/nausea is related to these stages.
For the bloody stools, I suggest do culture the stool for pathogenic bacteria and run fecal occult blood. Depending on the test results, specific treatment will be prescribed.
