What Is The Remedy For Shooting Pains In My Arm After An Elbow Injury?
Hi, I feel on the ice Dec, 8th and landed hard on my right elbow. I was stiff the next couple of days, but since then my should has gotten progressively worse. Constant dull aching pain. I'm a side sleeper and cannot lay on my right side because it makes it worse. My should pops and cracks whenever I try to raise it up over my head or out to the side. My range of motion has decreased alot and I cannot get my arm up over my head. It is almost like it is stuck. I try to reach for something outwards and a bit back and I get shooting pains down my whole arm.
The symptoms can be attributed to Neurogenic pain, due to compression of nerve & dislocation of shoulder joint as a result of the fall. Because of this, you are experiencing a shooting pain along the distribution of the nerve. So, kindly consult an Orthopediacian & get a proper clinical examination done. Investigations like X ray of the shoulder joint & nerve conduction studies will be helpful in clinching the diagnosis.
Gabapentin preparations & nervigenic agents (like Vit B6, Vit B12, Folic acid) are needed for symptomatic relief from the shooting pains. Physiotherapy exercise will also be helpful.
Wishing you a good health. Take care.
