I have an insect bite on my head, my doctor prescribed me flucloxacillin, I ve been taking them for two days, the infection on my head is healing but I still have a slightly swollen forehead, will the tablets cure this? The swelling does not seem to be going down.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Swelling after insect bite is probably due to release of chemical mediators of inflammation, most common being histamine.
Flucloxacillin will take care of the infection, however, the chemical mediators of inflammation can be controlled by drugs which inhibit the chemical mediators of inflammation.

Anti-histaminic drugs are commonly used for these symptoms.
I suggest you to consult a primary health care provider for prescription of antihistamines.

Thanks and take care
