What Is The Remedy For The Shooting Pain In The Stomach Near The Ribs?

I had shooting pain on left abdomen just nearby ribs for about 2 minutes.The pain was unbearable and i couldn t find a proper position to sit or sleep during these 2 minutes.Afterwards the pain relaxed and i slept for the whole day i felt a slight pain in the same area.The next day again same happened with unbearable pain for 3 minutes.Again the pain relaxed but this time pain the was getting more intense by body movements.whenever i walked or moved my body the pain was more intense.i consulted a physician who treated me normally by giving a pain killer an anti inflammatory drug.But for safety sake he got me sonographed which revealed 3 stones in left kidney of 3-5mm size.The doctor said it is normal drink plenty of water they will pass out.I took the medicines and after 5 days i was fine no pain at all.it has been now more than 45 days i have no complaints. Kindly suugest should i take kidney stone medicines and how will the stones pass out.

HI. Your Doctor was absolutely right . The best therapy for small kidney stones is to drink plenty of oral fluids. This helps in diluting the urine so not allowing enlargement of stone and forceful kidney flush-out can force the stones flow down with force of excessive urination.
If you are talking about herbal medicines for stones , you can definitely take them if suits you.
