Hypertension causes problems mainly with your heart. It causes your heart to work harder. This can cause the muscles in your heart to get larger (not a good thing) and it can decrease the volume that your heart can pump. Left untreated, it can cause congestive heart failure. There's many more things, but that's probably the main thing with high blood pressure.
