Pediatrician 's  Response
Since your child is 10 years old and has already started having periods, it is high time that you discuss about menstruation with her. Puberty and adolescence is a time when the physical growth is not at par with that of the mind. This creates confusion about the changes that are going on in their bodies. So, your child needs to be told about what is going on and also the responsibilities involved. To orient her with the things that need to be done and the ways to maintain hygiene, you need to tell her about sanitary pads and/or tampons.
