What Is The Role Of Femilon While Having Ovarian Cysts/uterine Fibroid?
Hi docter, I was diagnosed with overian cyst in my right overy and tiny fibroids in the walls of my uterus. And I have monthly periods but the flow from last 6 months is just for 2 days and now from 3 months flow is for 1 day..Mt gyno has put me on femilon tablets.. why should I take the tablet ??
Hello Cysts are often caused by hormone changes. Using the birth control pills ( femilon is birth control pills)can sometimes help regulate hromone levels ,so that the cysts can be taken care of. Your gynae will likely want you to come back after you have been on the FEMILON to see if the cyst is gone. At that time the doctor may suggest you stop using the medication or if indicated , you may need to continue it for a bit longer. Once you stop the femilon , as long as there are no medical concerns, you shouldn't have any problems with future conception. Many women will use femilon for purposes other then preventing pregnancy . Then they stop taking when they want to conceive. So in my opinion without hesitation take a course , as advised your gynae. Good luck.
