What Is The Solution For Cough Which Is Causing Breathing Issues?

My daughter age 15 years is having cough since last 33 days. Earlier for a fornight it was dry coughing but very severe. She was prescribed Zyrtec, Actified DM and Neb with duolin Later it was productive cough with relief in continuous coughing and doctor changed medicine to Ventorlin and Advente Forte 200 ( twice ). Her coughing period has reduced but she coughs once in around 2 hrs but it affects her normal breathing. Her food intake is normal, weight normal and no fever. What should be done ?

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Hello,

Your daughter is not improving in a cough and breathing difficulty despite treatment. So, it is better to get done chest x-ray to rule out lung infection (pneumonia).

She may need higher antibiotics, Long-acting inhaled bronchodilators (formoterol or salmeterol), and inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) (budesonide or fluticasone). So, consult the pulmonologist, and discuss all these issues.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
