What Is The Suggested Medication For Cough During Pregnancy?

Hello, I am 35 weeks pregnant. For the past 5 days I have been coughing relentlessly, to the point where my ribs hurt and I have completely lost my voice. My body temp is a little low and I feel very tired and drained. Is there anything I should/can do? Thanks.

Dear member,
Thanks for writing.
Due you have any other symptoms like fever, Sputum, sorethroat??
In above mentioned scenario you will need antibiotics and cough expectorant with steam inhalation.
If only cough please discuss with your doctor about taking a cough suppressant.
Cough only at night can be due to reflux oesophagitis as you are 35 weeks pregnancy with your uterus stretched all theway till your ribs.
Try lying down with pillows and on your left side to reduce cough due to reflux.
Thanks
