What Is The Suggested Treatment For Crystals On Eardrum?

I have been told i have crystals on eardrum i have had these before they hoovered them out cause i had otitis media. They have booked me in to see someone but the date of this appointment is for11.9.12 will they cause me much problems over the month or should i go to A&E and try to get them to look at me now

Hi,thank you for posting your query on health care magic.

Looking at description of Crystals on ear drum,given by your doctor,it can occur in case of an acute ear infection in following ways:

1.)The ear drum may bulge in some case of acute middle ear infection giving the picture of bubble on ear drum.In this case it may lead to mild rupture and lead to ear discharge.

2.)Bubble on the ear drum-it occurs in Bullous Myringitis-It is a viral infection of ear drum.

3.)Bubbles inside your ear drum-in case of Secretory otitis Media-In infection of middle ear,secretions may collect behind the ear drum giving a picture of Bubbles under ear drum.

In such a case,you may get relief by taking Oral decongestant like containing Phenyephrine,Nasal decongestant like Xylometazoline Nasal drops,Antibiotic ear drops like containing Ciprofloxacin,Analgesic like Ibuprofen and Antihistaminic like Cetrizine.
