Hello,
Lumps on the body commonly occur due to epidermoid cysts, swollen
lymph node,
skin cyst,
hormonal changes, infections or clogged glands, allergic conditions, etc.
Most of the lumps are harmless & don't require treatment. Painful, soft lumps are less dangerous than the painless, hard lumps.
If the lumps get tender or change in size medical attention is needed. Some lumps can be tumors, cancers or neurofibromatosis.
If they cause discomfort you are suggested to get clinically examined & get
biopsy done to rule out any malignancy.
If malignancy is detected further testing may be recommended like CT or
MRI to start the treatment at the earliest.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K.
