What Is The Treatment For VSD And ASD In Infants?

Hi, my only son has VSD and ASD. Doctor was suggested me that there is no required any treatment and no medicine as well. the tiny size (VSD/ASD) will be filled within 6-12 months age old. after 12 months we had done ECO, but doctor could not fine any major. Now my son has completed 26 months and still we don t see any issue with heath related and now he is completely fine. Now I have planning to get an health insurance for him. There any required ECO again to verify or can doctor certify me that there is no issue with his heart problem.

Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
The Ventricular septal defect and atrial septal defects are usually recovered by its own with out any treatment.
Periodically it is to be tested, and it may be closed upto the age of 3 years. If not closed by 3 years, there are surgeries , to close the holes, then they can lead a healthy life. There are some organisations to perform surgeries with out any cost like sathya sai trust .
If you want to take health insurance for this purpose, you may may need to take E.C.G. again, and insurance is to be renued every year.
