What Is The Treatment For A Secondary Liver Cancer?
My wife is getting a liver biopsy she was just diagnosed with breast cancer a pt and ct scan saw four small spots on her liver she has a history of IDC in her famaliy she my Carrie the cancer gene two what are the chances this is secondary liver cancer and how long will she live with treatment if it is
With a diagnosed liver cancer and with a strong family history, it is more than likely that the spots in the liver are secondaries from the breast. If so, then this is last stage breast cancer and her chances of cure are less than 25%. The treatment will consist of chemotherapy with or without hormone therapy depending on the hormone receptor status of the tumor (for this you will need a biopsy from the breast tumor). There is no role of surgery or radiotherapy.
