What Is The Treatment For Acute Tonsils And Throat Infection?
Hi Sir, I am having right side acute tonsils... had got headache 2 years back and was detected that it was because of severe throat infection...6 days back i hit the right side of my head ....not a hard one.... but 2 days later for past 4 days i have been having mild headache .... around my eyes little similar to the last one.... i am confused if it is because of my tonsils or the bang.... pls suggest if i should go to my ENT specialist or to a neurologist
Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
From what you are describing, most probably the headache is not related with the mild trauma of your head, but because of the tonsil infection that you are having. The headache from the trauma is very strong, does not get better by the use of common painkillers, and gets worse. Also, you would have other symptoms. If this is the case then you should see a neurologist. So, I would advise to see an ENT specialist. They will examine you and if there is any suspicion of the trauma in your head being the cause of the headache, I am sure that the physical exam that the ENT will do will make that clear.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
