What Is The Treatment For Anxiety And Social Phobia?

My daughter has extreme anxiety, anger, social phobia that she can't go to school. She is 15. She is on 50 mg of prozac a day. It seemed to help but I'm not sure if it has stopped working. Do you think she needs to up her dose, we are going to her doctor tommorrow - such a guessing game and so painful to have your child suffering.

HI
Thanks for using healthcare magic

I would suggest paroxetine in your daughter case. It is effective antidepressant as compared to prozac. This antidepressant has good effect on anxiety symptoms and with that, she could also do relaxation exercise. She can also take help of psychologist for exposure therapy. That would decrease her apprehension and she would able to perform between people.

Thanks
