Hello. I am a 38-yr-old female and have been taking minocycline for rosacea for about 5-years. I am struggling with chronic belching. Honestly, it's becoming quite problematic and I am curious as to whether or not this could indicate a more serious problem. I saw my family doctor last week and have been referred to a specialist, but I have not heard back from them yet. Thanks.
Hello, I can understand your concern for your symptoms Belching indicate indigestion. Indigestion has many reasons and each must be ruled out to start appropriate treatment. Generally belching occur due to insufficient intestinal digestive enzyme or constipation or fat-rich diet. You might require upper GI endoscopy to rule of inflammation of proximal part of small intestine (duodenum). For symptomatic relief, you can take intestinal digestive enzyme supplements and antacids which help to improve digestion. These are not serious problems but it might have high impact on quality of life as in your case. Hope I answered your query. If you have any further doubts, I would be happy to help you. Have a nice day!
