What Is The Treatment For Blocked Nose?

Hi Doc,

I have a really bad sinus and hay fever problem,I'm 20 weeks pregnant and the hayfever is terrible,I sneeze so much that my nose actually starts to bleed and burn after a while.

I don't get much sleep at night because my nose is on fire and blocked.

What can i use? Is allexgex and sinucon safe?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to health care magic,

You need to realize that what you have is a condition which we call as the pregnancy rhinitis.
This will cause both nose block and bleeding and this is very common
The bad news is that you cannot take any strong medication as it can affect the baby
The good news is that this is a temporary thing and it will get better as the pregnancy progresses and also may get better when you deliver
Meanwhile you can do steam inhalation and meet your ENT so that he can advice on local topical treatment

Hope this helps

regards

Dr Sriram nathan
