What Is The Treatment For Blood In Stool?

Hi i went to the er last week 10/27/2010 for blood after bowel movement on paper and in toilet, they did a vaginal exam ??? diagnosed me with a uti and vagintitus prescribed keflex and flagyl. I dont have insurance so I am saving to pay for these medications , but since the er visit I have been randomly vomiting five times total no real pattern and woke up one morning with a sore swollen lymph node in my elbow area near crik of left arm which is still swollen not extrelmly hard or soft more in between but not too sore now, two days later I had one below left ear swell up and it is sore and still there, this one not extremly hard. I also have had for a month now maybe two what I have assumed to be flea bites because we just got a dog and ive seen the fleas on me and I am highly allergic but either i keep getting bitten or it is a rash spread out in splotches over body mostly on lower legs feet and ankles. Can a uti untreated or vagintitus cause all of this or would you think there is more to it, at er they tested mr for gonorrea and chlamedia both were neg took urine, and blood, called and said two days later the blood test were fine. If you do think it is all caused by uti or vagintitus will the meds take care of everything?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The elbow lymph nodes are not due to vaginitis or UTI.

Systemic cause of lymph node enlargements has to be sorted out here.

Blood in the stool can be from GI infection, hemorrhoids or else, require colonoscopy examination for further guidelines.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel,
