What Is The Treatment For Bulky Uterus With Fibroid?
I am 43yrs old married lady with 20yrs of son and 16yrs of daughter. I am suffering from bulky uterus almost 3 times the normal uterus with multiple fibroids.I suffer from heavy bleeding with clots every month. Hb had droped to 7.4 with orofer injection it is 10.2 now. My doctor has suggested to take another injection so that Hb is somewhere close to13. My doc wants to do vaginal hystrectomy. Is it possible to do vaginal hystrectomy with bulky uterus ?
Hello, I have gone through your query and understood the concern. Given your clinical situation, the possible options are a hysterectomy, medical or surgical and uterine artery embolization. A massive-sized uterus may not be easily pulled down through the vagina in a vaginal hysterectomy. Therefore, majority of surgeons prefer the abdominal route to remove a very bulky uterus. If your surgeon is very confident of the descent of the uterus, he /she may opt for the vaginal route as postoperative recovery is quicker. Please discuss with your doctor or go for a second opinion. Hope this helps.
