What Is The Treatment For Bumps On Mons Pubis?

Hello, I am a lesbian I have been with one sexual partner for 2 years. my girlfriend and i recently had sex by what most would call scissoring. I had just shaved the day prior and i saw what looked like razor bumps or perhaps skin irritation or some ingrown hairs on my mons pubis. One of them got pretty painful so i plucked the hair (not sure if that was the right thing to do) my skin then started getting little red painful bumps all over my mons pubis and it is very raw and irritated. my glands in my groin are extremely swollen and sore the left one more than the right and i dont know how to fix it. it very painful. It wouldnt be an STD right?

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi,

Yes, it could be STD but it also could be due to local infection, so a course of antibiotics will be required.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sujoy S. Bhattacharjee, OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine
