my x ray shows patchy inhomogenous opacities in right lower zone and prominent bronchovascular markings bilatarelly. I have cough for the past 2 months and have been on antibiotic treatment.iam 51yrs old male, diabetic, taking B.p. and cholestrol medications.
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic. I can understand your concern. Upper lobe infiltrate on chest x ray is commonly seen in tuberculosis. And you are having chronic cough, not improving with routine antibiotics, so possibility of tuberculosis is high in your case. Diabetes is also a risk factor for tuberculosis because diabetes can cause immunosuppression. So better to get done sputum examination for AFB (acid fast bacilli-bacteria causing tuberculosis). You may require six to eight months of anti tb treatment. So consult doctor and discuss all these. First rule out tuberculosis in your case. Hope I have solved your query. Wish you good health. Thanks.
