i had an chest pa test and result came out as suspicious densities are seen in the right upper lobe. heart is not enlarged. Diaphragm, sulci & visualized osseous structures are intact. Im worried about that suspicious densities but i just had a cough for 3 weeks before my x-ray
Thanks for your question on HCM. I can understand your situation and problem. Chronic cough with chest x ray suspicious opacity is seen mostly in 1. Tuberculosis 2. Pneumonia. Upper lobe lesions are common with tuberculosis. Because TB bacilli have high affinity for upper lobes. The reason for this is high oxygen concentration in upper lobes and TB bacilli grows faster in high oxygen environment. So in your case tuberculosis must be rule out first. So get done sputum examination for AFB (acid fast bacilli) to rule out TB. You may need six months of anti tb treatment. So better to consult pulmonologist and discuss all these.
